The FINGERTIP VOCODER as a performance-instrument allows the tactile control and the artificial extension of the natural voice. Brazen Fingertip-rings act as expansions of the body – an interface worn directly on the performer’s hands. The touch of each finger with the thumb transposes the own voice and overlays it with certain intervals. The performance is an improvised choir piece for one person.
Technics/material:
The fingertip-rings act as switches which, when connected to the computer, trigger voice transposition and overlaying. Each finger produces a specific interval. The combination of several fingers creates chords.
